The main symptoms of heart diseases are chest pain, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, leg swelling, fainting and excessive etc. But it would be wrong to think that there is a heart disease if there is one symptom. If a good analysis of the symptoms is done, even a normal person can suspect a heart disease and consult a doctor anytime of discomfort.

It is also important to find out what the risks of heart disease are in a person. The main factors of causing heart diseases like smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, mental stress, hereditary problem, age over 40 etc. should be informed about risk factors. According to Dr Anil, Chest pain, burning or feeling pressure is considered to be the main symptom of heart disease, but these symptoms can also be caused by stomach problems such as gastric, muscle/arm pain, lung etc. Heart pain increases when walking or climbing and decreases after resting. Also, coughing, pressing on the painful area, shaking, breathing does not change the heart pain and it can be caused by reasons other than the heart diseases.

It is found that heart pain can sometimes also occur in the upper abdomen or in gastric area. If we feel the chest pain is accompanied by sweating, shortness of breath, and heart palpitations, it must be due to heart problem. Dr Anil added that Lungs, obesity, pregnancy, physical inactivity, anemia are the main causes of shortness of breath, but if the heart is weak, high blood pressure can also cause shortness of breath. Generally, breathing increases when sleeping or shortness of breath after walking, fatigue can be a symptom of heart disease.

Among these all, the main cause of heart palpitations is mental stress, lack of blood, obesity, thinness, uncontrolled blood pressure, pregnancy, physical inactivity etc. In such situation, while working or walking, it increases and when you are resting it decreases.
